Back Pain care

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit an acupuncturist. It can come from a strained muscle, a long day at a desk, an old injury or wear and tear on the spine, and it often affects sleep, work and mood.

At J.P. Hou Institute we have treated back pain in Central Florida since 1982. Acupuncture is a gentle, drug-free option that many patients use on its own or alongside physical therapy, chiropractic care or their doctor's treatment plan.

Your first visit starts with a free consultation about your health history and goals. We look at where the pain is, what makes it better or worse, and your posture, work and activity. Treatment may combine acupuncture with electroacupuncture, cupping or heat therapy. Most people find treatment relaxing. We will suggest how many visits to plan for and review your progress as we go.

We see patients at two clinics: Orlando acupuncture clinic (2224 E Concord St, near downtown, Winter Park and Maitland) and Altamonte Springs acupuncture clinic (421 Montgomery Rd, Suite 115, serving Casselberry, Maitland and Seminole County).

We accept many insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare, as well as PIP and workers’ compensation. See acupuncture insurance in Orlando; we verify your benefits before your first visit.

Acupuncture is a complementary therapy and results vary from person to person. It does not replace diagnosis or treatment from your physician. Please keep your doctor informed about your care.
